The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) worked in collaboration with Callahan County Sheriff, Abilene Animal Control, Rescue the Animals (SPCA for West Texas), and Abilene Police Department in a lengthy investigation regarding suspected animal neglect and cruelty at the AM Farm Sanctuary in Eula. On October 13, 2016, the Callahan County Sheriff served a search and seizure warrant on the Sanctuary’s owner, Mindy Marquez. The conditions on the property were deplorable. HSNT removed 162 dogs, 25 cats, 7 donkeys, 7 pot bellied pigs, 6 goats, 1 rooster, 3 rabbits, 1 rat, 3 reptiles, and 3 ducks. On 10/21, all 218 animals were awarded to HSNT.
The dogs are at a temporary holding facility being cared for by HSNT staff and Animal Investigations & Response volunteers. All are in need of rescue/transfer. If you can help with even one dog or one cat, please reach out to Brittney via email at foster@hsnt.org.
These are only a few of the dogs and cats in need. Some may already be spoken for. Please reach out to Brittney for more information.
